CHOBE RIVER LODGE - In town of Kasane

 This is an area where elephant walk daily through the small tourist town and great drama plays out along the river front as predators meet game animals drinking at the rivers edge. CHOBE SAVANNA LODGE - Caprivi Strip, Namibia 

To access Chobe Savannah you must land and leave your plane at Kasane. The lodge will pick you up at the airport and  help you with immigration both out of Botswana  and into Namibia. To get to the lodge you will have a boat ride of about 1 hour – game viewing on the way. The lodge is on a perennial floodplain on the Namibian side of the Chobe River. To reach Impalila Island it is best to park your plane at Kasane Airport in Botswana. This area is where Namibia, Zambia, Botswana and Zimabwe all come together. It is well known for large herds of elephant and buffalo that cross and re-cross the river daily. Winter time is the best time to see these crossings and doing so from a boat is spectacular. On arrival day you will start your cruise up the Chobe, usually two and a half hours to the first docking point where clients will spend the night on the boat. The Safari boat moves to a different docking point every day. During the day you can take the  smaller tender boats to do various activities such as game viewing, fishing, birding or just exploring the waterways of the Chobe River. If you choose to remain on board however there is plenty of wildlife to see while relaxing on deck or through the picture window in your room.
